The role as a scribe is to document in the patient's electronic chart the reason for their visit and any pertinent information.  This includes medical/surgical/family history, physical exam, imaging/lab results, procedures done by the providers, and treatment plan. Scribes are able to positively affect productivity, revenue, patient volume and efficiency. Being a scribe is also a great way to get clinical experience and work side by side with a provider.
